Nakhon Si Thammarat tours

This is a province on the southern coast of Thailand, bordering the Gulf of Thailand to the east. With an area of 9,942 km2, Nakhon Si Thammarat is 780 km from Bangkok. The province is bordered on the north by Surat Thanim, on the south by Trang and Songkla, on the west by Krabi. Nakhon Si Thammarat has an important position in history.

At the end of the 13th century, Thai trade with South India and Sri Lanka started here. This locality is also the cradle of Thai Buddhism from 1,700 years ago, under the Sri Vijaya period. The provincial capital city has many archaeological sites, many national park beaches and beautiful waterfalls. There is Mahathat Pagoda, which is the longest preserved in Southern Thailand and is the most prominent in this locality.

The temple was built about 1,700 years ago, which is home to Buddha's relics brought from Sri Lanka. The main temple is located in the middle of a complex of smaller sub-architectures with many unique features representing the architecture of the Ayutthaya period.
